How to Style a Small Apartment?

How to Style a Small Apartment?

I have completed the interior decoration of my 2-bedroom minimalistic apartment in Waterloo. When styling small and limited spaces, you’re often dealing with the difficulty of finding the right pieces for your space. The challenge I faced myself was having to choose the right pieces to make the space feel larger and more spacious than it really is! Here are some of my tips that hopefully can help you when styling your own apartment.

  1. Get creative with storage.

Space in an apartment is very precious. Consider buying a storage bed to give you extra space to store your things under the bed. Buy a cheap clothes organiser or basket for the space and you just gave yourself a second wardrobe!

     2. Choose a light scheme.

It’s very important to keep a small space bright to create a spacious and fresh feel. Try to keep the scheme of the apartment neutral and light. Stay with shades of white for your walls to create this illusion. Dark colours on walls tend to make the space feel claustrophobic and small. Hanging colourful pictures or adding plants to the space would also be a great addition to the space!

     3. Use mirrors.

Mirrors are a secret weapon when it comes to small and tight spaces. They bring extra light into the room and also makes the room feel larger. Buy a BIG mirror, the bigger the mirror is, the more spacious your room will feel.

    4. Consider buying tall pieces

Adding tall pieces to your space will make the room feel taller. Simply buy plants for your dining table, a tall standing lamp that overhangs in the living room or hang artwork in the living room and this will help your eyes to look upwards. It will make the room feel more spacious.

I hope my tips are useful and will help you in designing your space!
